oh no cute girl on his team who either hits or will hit a lot of his Tear pings /o\
I'M SORRY TO DISAPPOINT YOU BB BUT LUKE IS NEITHER GAY NOR MONOGAMOUS. But while I will be very surprised if he doesn't end up with a crush on her, I'm like 95% sure he would never actually do anything about it. Luke just likes to crush on badass girls and never go anywhere with it.
He's a little =|a about how chill she is, but he will assume she is a nice person because he assumes everyone is a nice person! The calmness is nice because he as a much easier time with calm people than dramatic ones. He feels a little like SHE IS A NEW TEAMMATE I SHOULD DO THINGS FOR HER BUT SHE IS SO TOGETHER I DON'T THINK I HAVE ANYTHING TO OFFER but that's not really a bad thing just a 'lol i guess i will just be around if she needs me =x'
HE DOES HAVE TO TALK TO HER ABOUT HER LIKES AND DISLIKES THO.
The pantless thing doesn't actually BOTHER HIM so much as it's like oh god legs .///. WHOOPS THAT'S HOT. But he's also in a game where the characters may or may not play out the final battle in bathing suits so he gets used to skin pretty quickly via exposure.
Oh, what fun~. I look forward to bothering your hormones, Luke.
I AM SO HORRIBLE AT UPDATES. Something new may have happened, but I will be damned if I know what it was. Also, despite Yuri's efforts, Vincent is not going to spend happy family time with Elliot. It's not how they roll, it's not the Victorian way. Vincent did not enjoy feeling so out of place and domestic with Elliot around, which is another reason why he should stay away from Iolite. Ugh, embarrassing things that have to be done in the name of team.
I . . . Thoughts on your no good, very bad brothers, Elliot? Has he recovered yet? Also, reverse.
He's mostly recovered yes. Elliot is slowly but surely learning to shake off the sex stuff that comes up in Aather. Dealing with Yuri has opened him up to the fact that MAYBE. HE HAS BEEN WRONG. ABOUT SEX AND HOW IT WORKS AND WHAT PEOPLE DO WITH IT AND WHAT IS OR ISN'T OKAY... so he's less 'THAT IS WRONG' and more 'CAN'T YOU AT LEAST DO IT IN PRIVATE!!!' And that's mostly just his own anxiety over the issue.
Tho he is currently talking about what Yuri should do for Vincent on their date and Yuri is just TOTALLY PUT OFF by the idea of not touching Vincent for like hours, and Elliot is like \o/ REALLY. REALLY! Okay maybe I don't know a lot about sex but you should not need to be constantly touching someone to enjoy a relationship with them. YOU HAVE ISSUES.
But the fact that he is even HAVING this conversation instead of running screaming into his room is a mark of improvement =Dbb He might even whine to Leo about it next time we thread and see if Leo can like. Fix things. Because at this point Elliot has realized that MAYBE HE IS THE ONE WHO IS WRONG ABOUT A LOT OF THINGS but he also can't just. Deal with it himself because he has no source of answers and not enough knowledge to come up with them himself.
/RANDOM TANGENT ON ELLIOT AND SEX AGAIN
Uh anyway Elliot doesn't really feel the need to be domestic with Vincent no... He's actually pretty comfortable with their relationship as it is now. He is still cranky Vincent died and feels a bit betrayed for it, but it's just kind of 'OH I GUESS I CAN'T TRUST VINCENT TO STAY ALIVE, THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN FUTURE GAMES =T'. At the same time, while he believes Vincent cares for him, he doesn't presume Vincent cares what he thinks, so Elliot will only ever push Vincent on things he finds really super important (like DYING). H-he will probably never bitch about Vincet being a pervert to Vincent the way he bitches about Yuri being one to Yuri 8D; THERE IS DEFINITELY A DISTANCE THERE but also it's so much better than 'Vincent hates me' so Elliot isn't going to complain.
If Vincent could send one member of his cast home, who would it be and whyy
Haha, what an easy question~! Through process of elimination, Oz would be the one to get the boot, though Leo follows as a strong second.
- Gilbert gets to stay, because Vincent has better more conclusive plans for him here. Also, there is Peridot, so unless everything goes extremely south with Aather . . . Gilbert goes absolutely nowhere.
- Sharon is something of a non-issue. She's defenseless and can be taken care of easily enough, so she can hang around without much issue. Really, she's not a strong player on the scene for Vincent.
- Echo slots into the same category as Sharon. She has the potential to be a larger issue, but the problems with her will eventually be brought to the foreground. It's kind of inevitable. Until then, Vincent can twist and turn her, so she works out super.
- Elliot gets to stay, because he would be dead, otherwise. Shut up.
- Leo said that he wants to stay with Elliot, so Vincent will honor that! The only reason he comes close to getting shoved back home is because he could potentially screw Vincent over in a large way. He is always on guard for this, and he almost told Leo once that Leo is his greatest ally or his greatest enemy . . . Except, lol, not letting him know that he has that much power. So, yes, Leo walks on shaky ground.
- Which leaves Oz to go back in a move that is not completely Vincent disliking his position! Really! Oz has the greatest incentive to dig at the past, to dig at whatever Vincent manages to do in Aather, and all of that . . . Because he's kind of a useless, doomed child, otherwise. So, he can go back to canon and stay out of the way which would be A-OK for Vincent.
Talk to me on Elliot's thoughts on family and the like since that has been on the upheaval for awhile now. Is he likely to adopt more people in? Is he still super unhappy about some aspects that aren't the Nightrays sucking? . . . You can talk about the Nightrays sucking, too. All the family talk for Kristen.
Oh gooood. Let's just say it is a REALLY GOOD THING that Yuri Lowell came into Elliot's life as a balance against all of the horrible family shit he has been going through.
Learning what he knows now: that he is the Head Hunter, that his family was very, perhaps unforgivably flawed, are really like reality breaking things for Elliot. He's always been a good boy, but he is now very aware of just how blind he was toward his family. In a way, as much Elliot adored them, he never felt secure, and that lack of security lead to a lot of things (taking in Leo, letting his brothers get away with bad behavior, being unaware of what his family was up to). He can see now how many things could have gone differently if he had stood up to his family instead of worrying about their rejection. And in that way Elliot, as brilliant as he is, is very sixteen. SOMETIMES THINGS ARE HARD, SOMETIMES YOU BURY YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND AND SCREAM REALLY LOUDLY AND REPRESS HARDER.
But, once he is made to face something he can't turn away from it. You may notice a lack of screaming about pride as a Nightray anymore. He does, decisively, still tend to introduce himself by his full name. But it's now less about declaring something he is proud of, and more accepting an unshakable reality/not rejecting his family despite their flaws. But baaaasically he has accepted that maybe the Nightray house was not so great. That said, he will absolutely keep his name and his long term goal is to do something with his life to redeem that name and make it shine again. He has a rough sketching of ideas for things like having an estate in Aather, opening an orphanage (and yes adopting a LOT OF KIDS and probably giving them all the name Nightray...). But that's all kind of... hazy what if's/it would be nice.
His overall thoughts on FAMILY and WHAT FAMILY MEANS has not changed at all! This is a truly unshakable part of him. Rather than thinking that family is not a rock solid important treasure and responsibility, he simply thinks that his family members were flawed and to some degree or another failed both him and themselves and each other. He really has a pretty healthy psychological process 8D; So this is kind of why Yuri STILL STARTS ON A PEDESTAL because family is STILL THE BEST THING EVER, and why a lot of his future plans involve BEING a good family member for others.
That said, outside of when he starts his own orphanage I don't think he would adopt anyone else easily. Adopting Yuri was sort of a... comedy of random events. He first did it because he saw Yuri as someone very dedicated to Vincent, and he was thinking more along the lines of 'I am not going to reject my brother for being gay, so I will accept his lover as my brother-in-law!'. But ... that still means the world to Elliot. Then Elliot got ALL OF THE WORST MEMORIES and Yuri was there for him, and he realized he had been forcing Vincent and Gil into roles that... maybe he shouldn't. So he mostly wanted to verify that Yuri DID want to be a part of the family, and Yuri was like well idk how long Vincent and I will be a thing, and... having put Yuri into the family, it would not be right to put him out over EVERYTHING WITH VINCENT IS COMPLEX AND HARD, so Elliot offered him a more permanent position.
Aaaad. Elliot would not have broken or abandoned his family if Yuri HADN'T been there, but having some good coming into his perception of family at the same time everything bad was being TERRIBLE was certainly a help in keeping him from breaking down.
THINGS ELLIOT IS UNHAPPY ABOUT THAT ISN'T HIS FAMILY EVERYTHING: Leo haaaaate all Personae. Elliot doesn't, but he is feeling a lot less tolerant of Personae as a whole (MINUS FIREBIRD BECAUSE WHATEVER FIREBIRD DERE!!) The FACT that Leo is so unhappy makes Elliot really unhappy he can't fix it. Elliot is always unhappy he can't fix things =T And knowing that what the Personae are doing is ultimately wrong but not having a solution (because he isn't willing to abandon the Heroes, the knights, or the people of this world) really bugs him. It feels like it isn't any better than remaining blindly ignorant.
UH. SEX. Dreaming of having sex with Yuri. YURI HARASSING HIM WITH TALK ABOUT SEX. Just generally feeling like he is really ignorant of something but too awk and embarrassed and insecure to do anything about it. HE'S AWARE IT IS A FAILURE. he is also just like /o\!!!! Because in a lot of ways even though his idea of romance is really ignorant, to HIM it's also kind of romantic. He's a little ._. over Yuri treating wanting to have a relationship with someone that DOESN'T involve constant physical contact like it's a joke. But mostly it's just so confusing and embarrassing and hard and he is. probably going to talk to Leo about it because he needs to talk to SOMEONE but he doesn't want to be any more honest with his insecurities to Yuri than he already has.
HAVE I ASKED HOW DOES VINCENT FEEL ABOUT ELLIOT ADOPTING YURI, and how about the Nightray household in Aather in general (as a family more than individuals).
LOLO PRETTY GODDAMN JEALOUS, TBH. He was annoyed and laughed it off when it first happened, but as it keeps coming up and being a thing . . . Vincent is just bothered and frustrated forever. It's not like he can actually do anything to make the situation better, though!
To backtrack, Vincent was sort of very privately into Yuri, didn't really know what he was doing with himself but he kept enjoying what was going between them. They keep growing closer together and so on, which is pretty swell and unnerving and not as bad as it could be but still has the potential to be! Then, before Vincent was even aware of the situation, Yuri and Elliot knew each other and were a family . . . Like, Vincent getting to introduce Yuri to Gilbert went so much better, because Vincent could control that interaction and he could see how it goes down. What happens between Elliot and Yuri is really rather behind closed doors, and he can't sneak more than a rare glimpse into the situation without getting spotted for what he's doing . . . And he can only do so much on assumptions and hypotheticals, really.
So, Vincent has a lot of love for Elliot, but he's not allowed to be open and honest about it. He's really a piece of shit in general towards Elliot and has no intention of changing that, because it would be a lie. This is definitely where they are at, and Vincent cannot be close to Elliot without things potentially, more than likely, going south. Besides, it's not in Vincent's structure to honestly be compassionate and caring for another. If Elliot wants concern and affection, then he's going to get the facade that Vincent puts on and not the real deal. In that sense, Vincent is ten times more honest with Elliot for not pretending to be a great big brother which he could do without hesitation. Yuri, however!!!, can sit there and be completely nice and honest and open with Elliot, give him the love and affection that the boy needs, and do all these really awesome things . . . And it kind of fucking sucks for Vincent. He's stuck in this place, and while he appreciates that Elliot does get to have a good person in his life and that these are two people who really work together better than Elliot and him do . . . He knows Elliot, he loves Elliot, he has had so much more time, but he can never match what Yuri does and will never try to.
So, Vincent sort of just turns a blind eye to Yuri and Elliot. He doesn't want to be involved the way that Yuri wants him to be, because Vincent knows very damn well that the concept of family that Yuri and Elliot are both enchanted with is not a model that fits Vincent in with. Vincent sees family on a completely different level from them, and those two ideologies could blend and work together . . . But that would involve Vincent actually talking about what he thinks and feels about something, lolo. At heart, Vincent would rather be divorced from the Nightray name/family and leave it between those two, because he prefers to retreat and not involve as opposed to making any sort of stance or trouble openly. I have told Lei before that Vincent would consider it a very nice end to things if Yuri and Elliot somehow got together if/when he disappears, because they suit each other so well. Not just that Yuri is a good influence for Elliot, but Yuri also needs the influence of Elliot. Yuri wants to be a good person for all his parading around trying to play the devil's advocate, so Elliot can certainly help him foster that sort of idea and work it in his own way. They are completely sexually incongruent, but . . . Well, that's not on his mind. It works on the theoretical level for Vincent, at least.
As for the family on a whole . . . Vincent doesn't really see Yuri as part of it, still. Rather, the Nightray family as it exists with Vincent as a part of it does not and cannot include Yuri, so it remains between Yuri, Elliot, and Gilbert and it is . . . Pretty frayed. It's supposed to be frayed, because Vincent keeps it that way while still viewing them as a family and together in his mind. Really, it's still the same broken down structure they had before Elliot and Vanessa died where Gilbert is fucking off on his own and doesn't check in as much, Elliot is steam-rolling into whatever he gets himself into, and Vincent sits back and does not much bother with anyone outside of being creepy at Gilbert. It's how they work, it's all that Vincent knows to do with family, so while they could potentially spend time together and be domestic . . . It would be so awkward! And none of them would know what to do! Vincent knows it, so he's like never going to attend any sort of family dinner, oh god no.
Also, I spot that subtle household stick in there and, well, Leo is an attache to Elliot rather than being part of the group. Vincent will probably never look on Leo as family the same as Yuri is not family. They are not at the core of this group and are just important to individuals who are family.
So, how much would Elliot punch Yuri for trying to be a bad guy/thinking that he is? Is Vincent pretty on about his hypotheticals?
A-awww Vince ;; When I saw 'jealous' i assumed it would be jealous that Elliot is touching Vincent's thing that was JUST HIS.
Though for the record, while Elliot is also aware he will probably never have the relationship with Vince (or Gil, for that matter) that he has with Yuri, in the moments when Vincent is really sincere and wants to... let Elliot know that he matters, it is like the ONLY TIME they are actually on the same page. So he knows Vincent cares for him (though he will probably never in a million years guess Vincent would like to be a better brother..).
AS FOR YOUR QUESTION
Hrmmmm. It really 100% depends on how Elliot found out. If Yuri was like THESE ARE THE BAD THINGS I HAVE DONE ERGO I AM A BAD MAN. Elliot would acknowledge that Yuri has some shit to pay for, but deny that he's a bad person. If Yuri pushed it, Elliot would pull out "Well this is the shit _I've_ done, do you believe I'm bad?" and when Yuri was inevitably like THAT'S DIFFERENT. Elliot would go off on how circumstances do matter, as do intentions. Blahblah IF YOU FEEL BAD THAN DO SOMETHING TO MAKE UP FOR IT, IF YOU JUST RESIGN YOURSELF TO IT I WILL KICK YOUR ASS =TTTT
I doubt Yuri could make him mad enough to ACTUALLY HIT HIM. At least in the 'regretting my past' scenario.
If he actually CAUGHT YURI DOING SOMETHING UNDERHANDED OR TRYING TO BE THE JUDGE AND JURY yes he would punch him and kick his ass and rar rar you don't have the right to decide these things. THAT SAID since Aather doesn't really have a judicial system it would be kind of complicated. But basically if he felt Yuri was going overboard he would be enraged, and if he didn't, he would be fully supportive =Dbb
Overall tho he will never let Yuri get away with thinking that poorly of himself if he had any idea.
SO IDK VINCENT ARE YOU PRETTY ON?
Also, why did Luke get an 'lol' as far as WHAT THINGS PEOPLE DID TO PISS CC OFF DURING THAT GAME...
Well, he didn't really do too, too much . . . She didn't appreciate him having such a strong, immediate reaction to Mukuro's dickery since it was pretty damn overt, but she is also new to the game/team, so it may have been the appropriate one, who knows! He was also playing team leader which was riding that same middle road that she favored, so they were in about the same spot . . . But she felt more sympathy for Dera on the whole, while having a new, mm, appreciation for Luke? Still, if you put an authority figure in front of CC who rarely follows anyone's rules except her own, she has the tendency to flounce off or clash with them, so the lol was just . . . The potential and unrest that subconsciously popped up. She doesn't want to be at odds with a leader, but she also doesn't want to follow one, either.
. . . Is Luke team leader? Thoughts on that and general discourse on Ruby?
Nah... Luke doesn't have much leadership in him, because there are very few circumstances where he is truly confident in himself. However, one of those circumstances is DEALING WITH ACEDIA, particularly when he is BEING AN ASSHOLE. So I guess his decision making became very decisive in that circumstance. Also he knows Oz well enough to know Oz would be really upset if they had killed anyone his behalf, so for Oz's sake he was strongly against it. If it had been different circumstances, he actually kill agree to kill people in games. He just doesn't think it is worth it if you only hurt the person you are trying to save worse by doing so.
NORMALLY in games like these Ruby discusses, maybe bickers a little, but usually comes to a conclusion everyone can agree with it. Sometimes Luke and Wrath fight (usually not about what to do, but about Wrath thinking Luke thinks Wrath is mean because he defended the more selfish option. Since Wrath lost his memories tho idk if this will come up again). Dawn tends to take whatever option has the least amount of danger in general, and the least amount of danger to Ruby in particular. He WILL sacrifice himself, but he won't ask anyone else on Ruby to sacrifice themselves for someone on another team. So if the game had been different, there's a good possibility Luke would have agreed with CC and Dera.
OVERALL Ruby has never had a leader, however they do tend to trade off who they 'follow' in games, depending on who has the most experience, confident, or just whoever is playing the most actively that night. No one on Ruby WANTS a leader, either, as far as I know. They've talked about it a few times. Dawn soundly vetoed Acedia back before Wrath realized how crazy Acedia was, and normally he wouldn't follow Wrath either, because he knows Acedia manipulates him a lot. Noooow he probably wouldn't because Wrath doesn't seem very confident. Senash has been moody and lying to the team lately, so Dawn would be dubious about following him too blankly, and Oz isn't much of a leader at all. If CC ever SEEMED LEADERLY maybe, but mostly he just doesn't think Ruby needs it. They manage to reach their own conclusions, even if it isn't always pretty, and despite being a fluff ball Luke is really sturdy, so it takes a loooong time for the fighting to wear him down. Also, Luke has a BIG THING about making his own decisions, so he would point blank defy a leader if he couldn't agree with him/her 8D; And Luke's concept of team is too incomplete for Wrath and Acedia to ever follow him.
BASICALLY IT WOULD NEVER WORK. But everyone on the team more or less has their own methods of bullying the others around, and there is a lot of give and take.
Why did CC go to the treehouse instead of the clinic =x?

Also, why did Luke get an 'lol' as far as WHAT THINGS PEOPLE DID TO PISS CC OFF DURING THAT GAME...

. . . Is Luke team leader? Thoughts on that and general discourse on Ruby?
no subject
