Inara is very uncertain of Vincent. She is aware that he keeps his distance from her, but she doesn't have a good grasp on why he does it. So while she doesn't have a problem just observing the niceties with him and not getting close, she's not really sure where it comes from on his part -- whether it's distrust, caution, dislike or just part of his social strategy. She hasn't found their goals to differ so far, in terms of keeping Iolite safe, functional and able to win a decent amount, although finding out that he stabbed some girl on Citrine one time (she doesn't know the story beyond that) certainly left her skeptical of his methods! So she's uncomfortable with how things stand between them, but not uncomfortable enough to shake things up. However, if they did ever come into conflict that seemed likely to damage the team dynamic, her strategy would probably be to corner him in private and just frankly lay out what her intentions are and try to make him come up with clear boundaries of how they can both do what's best for Iolite without stepping on each other's toes. Even if they don't come into direct conflict, if she feels like there's enough of an edge in their interactions, she may do this at some point anyway.
