Well I am playing it that Yuri remembers the dreams but he's not really lucid during them. That said, it is a big deal for Yuri to be exposed like that--but it being Vincent who saw him negated a lot of that. They already been so exposed around one another it would kind of be a moot point to be upset, and anyway, the idle simplicity of just being a stupid kid with Vincent was really appealing. IT WAS NICE... it was a nice, dumb, sweet, weirdly intimate dream. Maybe also a little bittersweet like, I wonder what kind of kid Vincent would have been if his life wasn't fucked up? I wonder what kind of kid I would have been if I weren't fucked up? Yuri doesn't have regrets regarding what he's done, but it will always weigh on him in the back of his mind. He'll never lock away the capacity in himself to be a murderer.
As for the opera--Really, Yuri has already gotten over the fact that Vincent is Not a Good Guy. He half-tortured him in the middle of the field after all. It's something he accepts without trying to rationalize. Really, Yuri is not a redeemer--he never 'redeemed' Raven and told him it was all okay, he just gave him a second chance to move on. He is willing to be with Vincent knowing his capacity for the kind of thing he did at the opera may never actually go away, but he'd already made that determination when Vincent tortured him. This dream just recinfoced the idea that yes, I can handle what Vincent throws at me.
BABBLE AT ME about Vincent and (sexual) dominance! Does he prefer it physically? Mentally? Would he like for Yuri to be more dominant? MOSTLY these two amuse me with their own private gender politics like how Vincent never lets Yuri lead and Yuri just flat out doesn't care so babble!!
Starting with the easiest point, Vincent will never mentally submit or not have the dominance when they have sex. He's come a long way in sort of undoing himself and opening up, but he also is keeping a very small facet of himself from Yuri lest he lose himself. So, he will never give Yuri everything, and it will always end up being in the mental arena where he will deny him.
Physically, Vincent doesn't really care that much. Actually, I'm going to frame that a bit. If Vincent could trust that Yuri would do what he would like him to do, then Vincent would not mind testing out submitting to Yuri. As it is, he is still unsure that if he gave Yuri free reign, he wouldn't do something completely embarrassing with the intent to pleasure Vincent. (Best example is that if they ever did bondage again, which they aren't in Vincent's book, and Vincent was the one tied up? He would despise every second of it and end up kicking Yuri in the teeth afterwards, because he would end up being the focus throughout foreplay.) The fact is Vincent doesn't think Yuri can get it up to be a sadist, really, nor could he do it in the context that Vincent would want most of all. That is, as a fallen hero as opposed to just trying it out because he knows Vincent would enjoy it; it's a completely different angle.
Hmm, hmm, never letting Yuri lead, though . . . Yeah, I suppose Vincent does that a lot. It's probably that inherent distrust of what Yuri would do if Vincent gave him the lead. Yuri wants Vincent to enjoy himself, would balk if Vincent faked it, so it always has to be in Vincent's court when it comes to sex. It's more of a pattern that was set from way back when, too.
Back at you. Plus, talk to me about what Yuri wants in bed, now that you've got me thinking.
Yuri has very few complaints about their sex life right now. Sure, he wouldn't mind having the lead a bit more, but he IS very attracted to Vincent's dominance, and he vastly prefers for Vincent to top and them both to be into it rather than him topping and Vincent is maybe not into it. Yuri doesn't really sweat who tops and who doesn't; all he cares about is Vincent enjoying himself. AND LIKE I SAID... Yuri thinks it is hot as hell when Vincent is dominate, and also when he's operating as a smooth noble playboy. 8D He really doesn't have any sort of overwhelming goal of making Vincent submit to him; it's nice to look at when it happens but GENERALLY not something he strives for.
As a side not on bondage, it's not really something Yuri is normally in to. He enjoyed it when Vincent tied him up the last time because Vincent entertained him but he doesn't really seek it. He indulges Vincent in it because he loves indulging Vincent, period. And in his experience Vincent has let him extend the foreplay without having to tie him up, so. Plus, if Yuri ever wanted to immobilize him he'd much prefer just pining him down. :D
As for what Yuri wants... Yuri wants everything, more or less. He really does want to do EVERYTHING with Vincent. He wants to double team someone with Vincent, he wants to fuck Vincent in the sunflower fields again; he would REALLY like to do some roleplaying... (one of the more prurient reasons he enjoyed the highschool AU dreams). More rough sex always, definitely wants some post-training sweaty adrenaline sex, mirror sex. But mostly roleplaying. We also haven't done drugs in a while. Hmm.
Same question(ish). What does Vincent want (consciously and subconsciously) in bed, what does he plan to do, what were his top 4 favorite sex encounters between him and Yuri. Basically any changes from this. Also will he retaliate and take Yuri on a date after the opera?
What does Vincent want (consciously and subconsciously) in bed, what does he plan to do, what were his top 4 favorite sex encounters between him and Yuri. Basically any changes from this. Also will he retaliate and take Yuri on a date after the opera?
What kind of date would Vincent take Yuri on?
Talk to me ore about the last part of the dream and how Vincent was feeling in the moment consciously and subconsciously.
Vincent's thoughts on Yuri adapting to noble culture.
Assuming he got all the Nightray boys on board... would Vincent ever go to live on Terca Lumireis?
Relatedly, will Vincent ever be able to live independent (and away from) Gil?
If Vincent had to get a grown-up job, what would he do?
"That said, he did appreciate getting a peek at Yuri in a more exposed form from his teenage years. ♥ It definitely gives a little insight to what Yuri wants and the act that he does put on." <--- TALE TO ME MOOOORE about this. What did Vincent find out.
You said Yuri tapped dere but there was a lot of other things he wasn't tapping. LIKE WHAT? And should he be?
Man, I . . . I want to answer them all, so this may take a long time. Also, I will hit you back with questions later on ish . . . Yes.
★ DAT MEME!! Um, I would like to say Yuri is little spoon, but it is the other way around! Because Vincent would not want to cuddle, so Yuri would probably be end up flopping an arm around him and trying to get Vincent to hold still . . . Not that is too hard to do, since he generally sleeps like the dead most of the time. Whatever, whatever, Yuri is the needy one here!
★ Like they have many activities outside of sex . . . Really now. In a completely domestic move, Vincent likes when they lounge around in the kitchen while Yuri cooks. He doesn't like eating afterwards, because that's like implied intimacy, face to face contact, but he likes to hang around and watch Yuri work while he talks at his back. Also, chess is Vincent's self-indulgent activity, but he kind of knows how to share it with Yuri and doesn't mind that too much.
★ Hahaha, Yuri does~. Vincent may be thorough and lazy, but doesn't have much to do in the shower after taking care of his hair, so he's pretty much in and out without being rushed. He wants all the more time for lounging around or doing something else that isn't sitting under running water, while I imagine Yuri is the opposite . . .
★ Fuck ordering take-out, either Yuri cooks or Vincent doesn't bother. He has a certain standard to live up to. Really, the scene would probably play out that he doesn't want to go out and Yuri doesn't want to cook, but he refuses to weigh on ordering something. So, Yuri orders Chinese food for himself to teach Vincent a lesson . . . And Vincent just steals his food to make Yuri cook anyway. (Or Yuri is mindful enough to get enough for them both, tsun tsun.)
★ Clothes and appearance, definitely. Vincent would be the boyfriend that always makes faces at what and how Yuri is wearing whatever, but Yuri would always turn his nose up at whatever Vincent suggests. Of course, it would end up being moot as Vincent would steal a select few of Yuri's clothes and vice versa, so they're both hypocritical bastards, but Vincent would still fuss at how Yuri dresses anyway, dun care.
★ . . . . . . . . . Is this really a question? If Yuri wants something cleaned, he's doing it himself. He isn't allowed to touch Vincent's nightstand or desk, though. If Yuri is determined to have the bed, then it gets messed up every other time Yuri makes it, just to make a point.
★ Yuri does. Vincent is the kind of guy who would wander in and start watching if Yuri put something on, but he would never have any requests nor have any desire to watch until it was already on. If not Yuri, then they probably never use their television ever, like winners. I can picture the latter more easily.
★ See above, ball is in Yuri's court on that one. I will say that Vincent would probably make a request once a month, then he would never sit down to watch it when it does arrive, so Yuri is waiting on him to do something so he can get his next movie. Then, Vincent is sour when the movie isn't around for him to watch after two weeks.
★ Cry, Vincent would be this one. He is why they get unexplainable discounts at stores and are okay to be a week late on their rent for no good reason. So, he gets the matter taken care of quickly . . . Though, he may be a slow start and plod through a day before suddenly feels like taking care of the issue.
★ ALL THE BLANKETS AND PILLOW FOR VINCENT~. This is probably why Yuri would end up spooning Vincent, just to try to stay closer to where the blankets are. He is not a very conscientious sleeper as he has never really shared a bed before Aather. There are secret methods to make him share, though. (I have no idea what they are—Probably rubbing his ankles or excessive touching in order to get warmth.)
★ V-Vincent does . . . He knows how to find exactly what he needs which is probably the eerie part as Yuri's shit goes messing in random piles of Vincent's crap, and Vincent is like, "No, get your socks out of my X pile." "HOW DID THEY END UP THERE??" "I don't know, but keep them out. ♥" There is no rhyme or reason to how everything ends up where it is, though clothes seem to gggenerally concentrate in a vague area. That is the small upside.
★ . . . They would both buy a carton, then come home and be like GDIT I JUST BOUGHT SOME. Vincent would do it just to avoid getting nagged and pestered out to get it later, Yuri would do it to just be mindful of needing it for coffee or cooking. Then, they both don't get it the next time, expecting the other to, and the cycle repeats itself . . .
★ VINCENT REMEMBERS. He has like the perfect memory for dates, so he could lounge on the couch and remind Yuri to send a card to whoever has a birthday coming up without glancing or looking at anything. He also can remember all previous presents, so they don't give the same gift over. The same goes for cards. When it comes to anniversaries, he would play it off, like he doesn't remember at all, though. Then, take Yuri to dinner the night before just to get the jump on him, so it still isn't expected, even when Yuri knows he's being contrary.
4/5 times Yuri will let Vincent have his space but every fifth time Vincent wakes up with a Yuri vine wrapped around him.
Dancing!!! Occasionally gets antsy and wants to go out. I could see Yuri being an excellent swing dancer.
Yuri is also a short shower-er, though he does enjoy taking longer showers with Vincent.
Yuri orders Chinese food for both of them because watching Vincent eat with chopsticks amuses him.
Yuri doesn't complain at Vincent because it would be ineffective.
Yuri never makes the bed... He keeps things tidy but not really 'clean'.
Yeah would not be a sit down and watch TV person except for the rare time when he just wants to curl up on the couch with Vincent and lay in his lap while Vincent watches whatever artsy movie he wants to watch
THE LAST FIVE OF THESE.... all exactly true. Yuri never remembers dates and only knows their anniversary or whatever is coming due to like, seasonal changes.
Consciously . . . Lol blowjobs lol. It is what Yuri is really goddamn good at, so he is never going to really complain. After that, he doesn't have a great drive, despite being very into Yuri. There's never really something he wants to hit, just ideas that float around that either happen or not based on how into it Vincent thinks that Yuri would be. Sometimes, he just veers into wanting less pleasure and more straight into pain, but he's not going to leave a knife on the nightstand and hope for the best . . .
Subconsciously is a whole other ball game. He has a metric ton of desires that I sincerely doubt I could completely get into! Really, they communicate through sex a lot, so it's sort of . . . A compliment to half of this, but!
- He would want really slow, dere sex, even if they just end up making out for hours without doing anything at all. In the same vein, sex without it being a means to an end or meaning something else. So, it would be less with implications that they have loaded on and more casual by virtue of comfort, not anonymity or keeping from pushing the other too far.
- Vincent would balk tremendously if Yuri tried to map his body, but he would probably break a little at it, just claiming and knowing everything, even just physically.
- Sssubmission . . . ?! Turning off would happen first, so it's hard to distangle from that idea where Vincent stops existing inside his own mind and is open. Still, he wouldn't mind taking the extreme back-seat and letting Yuri lead off without worrying about the end results. Honestly, he's almost breached this a couple of times before fighting back for control.
- Lol that dream lol . . . Yeah, that was subconscious, so it goes here. He would super like to find a level where Yuri balks and doesn't want to, just to make him because he would enjoy that ten times more than whatever it would end up being. In that vein, he wants Yuri's absolute submission which would have less bad effects than you would imagine! Of course, Yuri may have done that a couple of times already . . .
AND I WILL LEAVE IT THERE? I could probably come up with more, but I don't really plan or think too far ahead in that . . . Which is a nice segue for that other question! Vincent rarely plans in advance and tends to go along with the moment. Like I said, he always has ideas on his mind of things that Yuri might like, then somewhere in the middle of foreplay, he decides on which he wants to push for or how he wants to take the situation then goes from there. Haha, I'm not sure if you've spotted it, but there will always be one comment that takes forever for me to make before they even get too far as he thinks of what to do right then. (He's faster than I am, etc etc.) So, yeah, he knows how to plan well, but he also plans loose because he can read situations like that.
Um, top four favorite were . . . Fucking Yuri against a door, in the sunflowers, in the bathtub, and the one after that one dream! For bonus points, his least favorite were the first and second bondage attempt and that one time in the shower where he completely faked it.
As for retaliation . . . Thaaat really depends! Let me put it this way: Vincent won't do it in retaliation, but he would consider doing it depending on Yuri's attitude throughout the date. I can spoil you stupid for what I predict Vincent's feelings will be on the matter, if you want, but the general idea is that if Yuri enjoys himself, then Vincent may consider a repeat which would be done top-quality with his own touches. Anything you can do, I can do better~.
. . . Why did Yuri come up with a date, anyway? I forget the reasons or intention there.
ONCE AGAIN you are infuriating too much planning and intrigue to Yuri Lowell. He'd just been mulling over what to do with his favor from mother and then there was the dream and they had SUPER DERE SEX. He always knew he'd use the favor for something for Vincent but he thought this would be an opportunity to get in trouble together.
Why was this included in the last three . . . And who says that laying around and occasionally making someone else fill out paperwork isn't a grown-up job? It is completely legit.
While the obvious choice would be to make Vincent do public relations and work over everyone to sell someone, it really wouldn't be where he would naturally gravitate to. That takes far too much investment, time, and strategy for him to care too much, plus he wouldn't like having to mix work and play together so intimately. He likes some division, since he's facetious about categorizing. Really, he would find a low-stress desk job and spend as much of him as time dicking around while on salary, then he would suddenly be amazing at something whenever they felt like firing him. He really wouldn't care what the industry was and would likely find out two months after he gets hired what the company he works for does, because he truly cares less about a job as a means of living. It's something to be done, not something to invest more time than necessary in. Also, the temp office ladies are always very taken with him for some reason . . .
Yeah, I'm curious about this for, Yuri. Reverse me.
And he would want to be a cop his whole life, and go out for it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (probably right after his associate's degree), and probably hold on to it for a year or two until he got fired. :D After that he would land a job serving during the day at some place where older women take their lunch breaks and tending bar at night and Flynn would bitch and moan at him until he started taking online classes or something. He'd never be able to handle a desk job or the military and fuck it would probably open a DETECTIVE AGENCY with Rita, who would have been kicked off the forensics team for being too awesome,
Alternatively, I have seen rock band AUs and yeah Yuri would be a hot as shit hipster rock star.
RE: That thread and finding out more about Yuri. I'm going to bullet point, because that is just easiest!!
★ This shouldn't be a revelation, but Vincent has let it sink into the background and was suddenly reminded of it—That Yuri would like to know more about Vincent. For what Yuri does understand, there's a lot more that he can't dream of when it comes to Vincent, and he realized it more acutely threading with a more honest, open Yuri. Granted, he didn't push the issue as his style, but it was there.
★ Yuri wants to be loved and cared for by someone else. It's not necessarily surprising on its own, but the hesitation he shows about taking it . . . It's sort of endearing and familiar to Vincent. At the same time, he knows that Yuri shuts down when someone gives it to him unabashedly due to the Raven situation, so it's an interesting middle line where Vincent isn't even sure that Yuri knows how he wants love, just that he has a deep, deep want.
★ Really, this thread may have been Vincent just being more acutely focused on Yuri, rather than rolling along like he does, because he had to keep up the act and follow on the cues. So, once again, while it shouldn't be something relatively new, Vincent understand even more strongly that Yuri puts on his dispassionate act to hide the fact that he really is charged and determined about some things. For all that he tries to sit back and act like he's not effected, he really and truly is which was something that Vincent had great fun seeing way back when and has been missing since.
★ Tying in with the previous point, Yuri has likely experienced a slight of fortune that is not necessarily due to his life in the slums but is certainly connected to it. What dreams and ideals Yuri may have had could not match what the world gave him, and he seems to put on the facade to hide that fact. Vincent understands putting on an act to hide a pain, since he lives and dies by it, so . . . Yes, he's pretty sure that it went something like that.
★ Also, that facade and way of reacting is likely why Yuri doesn't respond and trigger like a normal person. If Vincent can get a rise out of him, then he's really accomplished something. It's a nice thought and goal to have, but the way to bring it about as Vincent knows it . . . It's a very messy ordeal. Why you gotta be so difficult, Yuri Lowell.
★ Not necessarily something he learned, but he got a deep sense of pity from Yuri. Somehow, he always gets that feeling with Yuri at times, and he would truly like to spit on it. Vincent hates even the thought that Yuri may pity him.
★ The hope that was crushed before . . . It was probably for a fair and even world. This came about less clearly than the others, but if you put it together with his past actions where he wants balance and reason along with Vincent sort of craving the same thing . . . Yeah, it pretty much fits. So, Yuri wants everything to be equal and even, fair to all, even while he understands that it is damn near impossible.
Ssso, yup, he got a lot out of it! Vincent is really great at reading people, and Yuri is so much better at covering his tracks as an adult . . . And, well, Vincent is less cued in as he was then, because he was pulling Inception-levels of mindfuckery that required the whole of his attention.
Haha, oh, ohh . . . Well, Vincent thought it was charming, at first! It is very easy to get lured in by the pageantry and glamor of it all, so he couldn't really blame Yuri. If you don't see beyond the surface, it really is almost like a fairytale. Even when you are exposed to the darker elements, it's so much more elegant and plays out on a higher scale than the struggles that those of lower classes face. It seems like such a secure and charming place for all of its superficiality. Plus, Vincent is very much a part of that world, even when he's set apart like in Aather. Really, Vincent and Elliot live and breathe their noble breeding, so it is just a fundamental part of them that Yuri does not know much, if anything of. So, he can see where Yuri might be trying to get closer to the both of them by trying understand that world.
So, Vincent went along with it! He would throw a few lessons Yuri's way, sort of like you would show a child some easy magic tricks, but he was never truly serious about it. He figured that Yuri would grow tired and bored with the whole affair, since it didn't suit his disposition in the least . . . But he hasn't! Yuri keeps showing this keen interest and wants to learn more and more, and it really is starting to grate on Vincent. It would be a different matter if Vincent had to introduce Yuri to society, but this is an idle interest in something that Yuri will never have use for. It's pointless in that sense.
Usefulness aside, Vincent doesn't enjoy the noble culture. He knows what its like to live from the lowest point, and he has contempt and disgust for how they go about their lives. In a way, he views those from the lower classes as more worthy than those from higher classes, with the exception of Elliot, because those from below had no choice but those from above purposefully are so wasteful and self-absorbed. Even when Vincent is someone they would look down on if they knew the truth of his birth, he can make them love and adore him, twist them any way he likes. He doesn't see why nobility have any merit at all, aside from luck of the draw.
Even if Yuri thinks that some nobles are good because of what he knows of Elliot, he should know just as well how awful some of them can be because of Vincent. (If Yuri said that Vincent was a bad noble, because he was born in a lower-rank . . . Well, Vincent would lose it on him.) Yuri doesn't know that Elliot was one of the few, but Vincent has never hidden that fact. For every Elliot, there are undoubtedly another ten people like Vincent or worse. Vincent abuses the privileges he has, for no reason other than that he can sometimes, and he would never show any kindness to those in the lower class. Really, he is equally cruel to both, but it is so much easier to harm someone from the lower class. While a noble may have their pride, standing, and wealth, what does someone from the lower class have? Maybe nothing other than their life. Still, Yuri wants to learn about this world that gave Vincent the means and power to do everything and more that he's done, enabled every destructive behavior Vincent had in him to even greater degrees. Remember, Vincent never displayed violence or aggression before he was taken in by Jack and/or Glen. Also while the life was difficult before, the world of nobles failed him even more by giving him hope then taking it away.
So, yes . . . Once upon a time, Yuri hated nobles without knowing anything about them, yet as he learns more he seems to only be charmed by them, rather than balking at the hypocrisy of it all like Vincent expected. Also, as much as he does enjoy to push Yuri, Vincent doesn't want Yuri to become a part of the world of nobility, become as untrue and false as all those other nobles that Vincent's seen before. It's not what is charming about Yuri at all; Yuri is from the lower class, and he managed to survive against the odds. So, it would be incredibly disappointing to see Yuri get lost in all of it. On the flipside, if Yuri could straddle the middle line that Vincent nor Elliot did . . . Well, fuck you, Yuri Lowell. :)!! The world doesn't work that way.
While I am on the topic, let's talk about that date question~. So, dating and all that is involved with it is an integral part of noble culture! Vincent knows all the rules and intricacies involved with courting to the point that it's almost a game. He doesn't date to enjoy himself with someone; he dates to enjoy himself by destroying someone else, causing trouble, or simply doing as he should. It's not a shared activity of pleasure, more than it is something to fill the time for Vincent.
So, he's not really keen on the idea of dating. He took Breeze on a date, and it was purely a matter of form and function, not any real interest in the girl. She wasn't like his usual ladies of choice, but Aather requires a very different sort of touch that doesn't require him selling himself out to get what he wants. Vincent adapts to the situation at hand. After the date with Yuri, I promise you that he will go out on a date with Misato just to balance it off with how a date ought to be, rather than . . . Whatever Yuri ends up putting together.
With all that in mind, what kind of date would Vincent take Yuri on if he felt it necessary or what have you? Given what he's got in Aather, Vincent would probably make it a nice walk to a location with some light snacks and wine. He would be absolutely poignant about not touching Yuri more than necessary, then drop Yuri back off at Onyx like a proper gentleman. If he wanted a date, then Vincent will give him exactly what a date would be like with him, no matter who they were. If he had more free-range, then he would certainly take Yuri to a soiree hosted at another noble's house, pass an hour with him, then find someone else, or a few someone elses, to fill his time with . . . Then, collect Yuri at the end of the night without missing a beat.
Derp derp derp, Vincent is a complete dick. Let's all act very surprised.
HMMM. Well, Yuri spent his entire life hating the nobility. he's no naive enough to thunk that all nobles are terrible but he recognizes that it is a very corrupt institution. His interest in it now is not that he is charmed by it--though it does amuse him, at times. His interest in it stems purely from his his interest in Elliot and Vincent. He has no pretensions of every 'fitting in' with that culture. You could say that he enjoys learning the rules because he knows he'll flout them, though it's not something he really seeks to do. Yuri is a rule breaker as a function of his existence.
That said, he also enjoys noble culture because it suits Vincent so well I've mentioned before that he likes to see Vincent operate. He knows Vincent himself is not a fan of the culture but he manipulates it so well it's kind of hypnotizing. Yuri also has really good associations with the parties in that he gets to publicly be with Vincent where everyone can see them... Yuri is a little conceited where Vincent is concerned! He knows Vincent doesn't want him spreading their relationship around but Yuri wants everyone to know that he gets the privilege of Vincent's company, so he loves having that space where he can unabashedly be with Vincent in plain sight.
But anyway.. Yuri is not really 'charmed' by the noble culture. He's not afraid to play with it in Aather because it's not really real. HOWEVER... he is charmed by Vincent operating in the noble culture, maybe a little awestruck. He wold be EXTREMELY SHY of admitting this. But there might even be a little bit of envy in the same way he envies Flynn--he could never follow those rules; he'll always be the odd duck out, watching from the other side of the glass. It's not that he regrets his own nature, he's just aware of his own limitations.

Also, I am curious what Yuri thinks of the family situation, especially with having heard that Elliot did do it.
Mmm, how badly did that dream with Humpty Dumpty mess with him? If at all. Details, details~.
Does Yuri want to come to Pandora Hearts land? Would he rather not?
